THANK YOU!!!!! What a fantastic event this year!! Excited to report that we had twice as many WowMen Sprinters and raised over $2,000 to benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Also, here’s a bit from Brent’s speech to the runners and supporters before the event began:

“I just want to thank Citizens Bank and Trust for letting us host the Chambers first Friday Coffee, to Mayor Chuck Haney, Miss Missouri McKensie Garber for your participation and the Chillicothe Police Department and the United States Army for sending out representatives to support us. Special thanks to all the racers for donating their time and stepping up to show that if women in our lives can fight this battle than we can show our support by strapping on some heels and racing for them. Let’s just face it, life isn’t easy, things happen and it certainly can be tough sometimes and a scripture comes to my mind. “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

The fact is we lay our lives down in many ways, you can lay your life down with money and sacrificing money. You can lay your life down with your time. In this case I think we have a bunch of men who really are laying their pride and their ego down for a friend and to support other people. There’s no greater feeling than to help people that have a need and so I really do want to thank you all for laying down your pride and your ego and to everybody for coming and participating this morning.

I want to thank all the Woody’s employees that worked so hard to put this together. This was the brain child of Sonja Griesbach and the WowFactory last year and then Sally Stefancik stepped up to the plate and managed it this year and I really want to thank them. In addition, a very special thank you to all the women at Woody’s who I’ve had the pleasure to work with.

I’d like to thank Michelle Sewell for coming out this morning. As you may or may not know Michelle has been battling breast cancer and I’d like to say I confirmed with her this morning that she has won!”

AUGUST: Congratulations to Children’s Mercy Hospital our latest $500 Charity of the Month Contest Winner!!

Pictured above from left; Kaylee Kline (Marketing), Megan Sharp (Children’s Mercy Community Events) & Sonja Griesbach (IT Director).

Kansas City, MO Woody’s Automotive Group is honored to congratulate Children’s Mercy Hospital for winning our charity of the month contest !! Many of our families and friends, have a life saving story to share about Children’s Mercy, so we wanted to learn more.

Children’s Mercy began with two compassionate sisters. The founding of Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics is traced to 1897 and two sisters, Dr. Alice Berry Graham, a dentist, and Dr. Katharine Berry Richardson, a physician.

As the story goes, a saloon keeper in the Kansas City Stockyards had heard of the sisters’ reputation for helping poor, sick children and he told Dr. Graham of a woman he had seen in the streets trying to give away her crippled 5-year-old daughter.

Drs. Graham and Richardson found the girl abandoned, undernourished and poorly clothed. They arranged a bed for her at a small hospital on 15th and Cleveland in downtown Kansas City on June 24, 1897. The doctors established the Free Bed Fund Association and through painstaking care, they restored life to the orphaned child’s crippled legs. With surgery and therapy, she walked again.

Giving to Children’s Mercy ensures children throughout the region will benefit from the highest-quality health care. Your gifts to Children’s Mercy ─ whether donations, volunteer time or kind words spoken in the community ─ make it possible for us to serve every child who comes through our doors with treatments born out of the latest pediatric research available anywhere. Children’s Mercy is as special on the inside as it seems on the outside and it is our job as community members to ensure the hospital continues to grow, expand and gain new knowledge to benefit our kids.

If you’d like to donate to Children’s Mercy you may do so online just go to or by mailing a check to:   Children’s Mercy Attn: Department of Philanthropy 2401 Gillham Road Kansas City, MO  64108

Woody’s Automotive Group, An Affiliate of Kline Corporation Announces The Opening Of Its Automotive Concept Store At the Legends Outlets In Kansas City, Kansas May 8th

May, 2014, Chillicothe, MO-Woody’s Automotive Group, found at, based in Chillicothe MO, is delighted to announce the opening of its Automotive Concept Store at the Legends Outlet Mall in Kansas City, Kansas. The Woody’s Concept Store is the only known used car location of its type. Woody’s automotive Group regularly stocks all makes from exotic to economy based automobiles.

The “concept” is to utilize interactive technology, a vast inventory from exotic to economy based automobiles, a zero games/hassle approach and a zero pressure environment to assist people in finding the car they want at a payment that fits their monthly budget. To that end Woody’s has remodeled its new location, installing plenty of technology, lighting, sound and video screens to get the job done and has brought its very successful, no hassle, sales system to Kansas City. If a couple wants to spend the day together but one of them doesn’t enjoy shopping, that person may enjoy looking at some really cool cars while waiting for the other. Woody’s will also simply purchase a customer’s car.

Woody’s Automotive Group is an affiliate company with Kline Corporation, Kline Van and Specialty Rental. Together these companies conduct business in the continuous 48 states and have office locations in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado and California with planned expansions to Maine and Arizona.

Woody’s emphasizes a “no games approach” with the same low price posted on the vehicle/internet in their advertising and in the dealership. Woody’s prices are independent third party verified to be among the lowest in the nation with NO hidden tacked on fees. “We don’t raise the prices on ours in order to fool you by showing a higher value on yours” stated CEO, Brent Kline. “My father along with Grandpa Woody taught us how to do business by keeping things fun, simple, friendly and inexpensive” Kline further stated. The sales advisors are paid on a salary, to advise and assist the customer into doing what is best for the customer.”

Woody’s picked the Legends Outlet Mall due to its great management, stores and attractions. “The mall…like our dealership… attracts people from a huge region.” “The mall has great stores and restaurants, is well run and has attractions such as Nebraska Furniture Mart, Cabelas, Kansas Speedway, T-Bones baseball, and the MLS Champion Sporting Kansas City soccer team” said Kline. “Those wishing to purchase an automobile from the Legends location will conveniently be able to do so. We will deliver any automobile the customer chooses to purchase. Others may choose to travel to our regional location in Chillicothe, MO once they understand how we do business…how different we are from the typical dealer and that we have over 1000 cars available in the Kansas City region alone…not to mention the thousands more available outside of our region” Kline further stated.

Kline went on to say “People drive further to eat at a good restaurant and an automobile is the second largest purchase customers make.” “There are good reasons people are willing to drive to and wait for a table at a good restaurant and that is a pleasant vs. an unpleasant experience…only with a car the steaks are higher (pun intended).” “With our no hassle approach and our huge selection, Woody’s at Legends or Chillicothe is certainly worth the drive” stated Kline. Kline is a third generation car dealer joining his grandfather Woodrow (Woody) Wilson Kline and Woodrow (Fritz) Kline. The original dealership began in 1947 selling the brand of Kaiser Frazier. The store is officially scheduled to open May 8th, 2014

A creative way of showing appreciation for those who serve our community through working with others was recently announced by Woody’s Automotive Group in Chillicothe MO. Essentially if you are a Church Pastor or work for the Police Department, Hospital, Prison, Fire Department, Military, municipality or in the education system will become eligible through their H.R. personnel to acquire free vehicle service for their vehicle. All year long Woody’s Automotive Group will be giving free oil changes to those who serve our community. “Woody’s is grateful and proud to be able to honor our local public servants by giving back to those who give to humanity everyday via their profession” said Brent Kline owner of Woody’s Automotive Group in Chillicothe. “We are truly blessed to live in such a wonderful community and we want to say thank you all year round to the hard workers whose career is to serve and better the lives of others.” Kline stated. Each month Woody’s will submit up to 40 free oil changes to the above mentioned organizations. According to Woody’s the organizations will be able to use these free oil changes as incentives, for contests, birthdays, employment anniversary or as part of meeting giveaways or any way administration chooses to benefit the workers. Woody’s felt that this type of program was timely and appropriate due to chronically very difficult economic times. More information concerning the offering can be found at WOWWOODYS.COM.

The book, "25 Truths" is for anyone who desires to become a better person and to live a more fulfilling life. We are fortunate enough to have Ed Douglas, the author of this book, as an active member of our community here in Chillicothe and Livingston County, Missouri.

This year, Ed has graciously decided to speak publicly of the values presented in his book. This is a great opportunity for our children, family, and friends to be exposed to excellent character education that many believe is lacking in our community’s young people.

Some examples of the “Truths” in this book are: Truth 12: Learn what brings true happiness Truth 15: Never Surrender Truth 21: Get as much education as possible Truth 18: Set goals and write them down.

Ed is available to give seminars on his book, ’25 Truths: Writing Wisdom for a Better Life”

Church groups, student groups (future business leaders, scouting, high school classes, athletic teams & others), leadership groups, parents and children as well as service clubs are also all appropriate venues for his remarkable presentation.
